This is  a used, and much enjoyed RV camper.  It is being sold AS IS, WHERE IS.    (It is in Whitman, Massachusetts)  We bought it on eBay, used it 2 years, and now are spending time on our boat instead.  For anyone who wants a good used camper and can do some basic minor fix up this is for you.  Picture this on your piece of land in New Hampshire or Maine come deer season!  Coffee on the stove, fresh snow blanketing the pine grove where the deer sleep under the big trees, early morning cold outside, warm inside....Or on the lot at the lake, canoeing in the mist with your flyrod, with the curl of smoke coming up from your campfire onshore waiting for fresh trout....  Dream a little!

If you want a new camper, pay the big bucks.  If you want a fun, serviceable camper for weekend trips, or to set up for a hunting camp, this is perfect.   It is an older model, and built more heavily than the new ones.   This would be ideal for a couple of hunters, or a couple with a small child, this is for you.    The oven is fun, we baked breakfast rolls, roasts, and even brownies!

It was modified from a "Bunkhouse" style by the previous owner, who removed the bunks and created a Queen sized aft main bedroom.   There has been interior new flooring, and the main bedroom has some holes in the plywood paneling where nails and screws were removed when taking out the 4 bunkbeds.  Someone clever (like you?)  with basic carpentry could return it to a bunkhouse mode.  Invite your buddies hunting?  Have the family for a weekend camping trip.   The sofa and dining table open up to sleep 2 more adults if needed.

We drive a Toyota 4WD 6 cylinder pickup, and it is just a bit too heavy for that.   5417 Pounds total.   Needs a V8 or Ram Diesel Pickup to be more suitable.  Even with the 6 cylinder however I got 12 MPG, and hauled it from Virginia to Colorado, (to 8600' above sea level!) used it for a year, then hauled it  back to Massachusetts where it now can be seen.  It is in mother's yard with good traffic flow for possible sale.  It is listed for $2000.00

We bought on  2 years ago for $3500in Virginia.  We have put 5000 miles on it.  It has new rubber (5000 miles on tires) and $1700 in upgrades and repairs/tires etc. and the following items are new:

  • Two new 20  pound propane fuel tanks with upgraded regulator to the modern type, so you can just swap the tanks at WalMart or similar Blue Rhino propane exchanges.    Installed by RV dealer in Colorado Springs when we found that the tanks were no longer re-fillable.  There is a T valve so you can run on one tank, switch to the other while getting a refill.
  • NEW entry door professionally installed in Colorado ($800 alone for door installation)
  • New deep cycle 12 volt battery, December 2007  Kept indoors for winter months.  Runs pumps, lights, exhaust fan, heater for almost a week on full charge.
  • Three gallons of RV antifreeze will be installed before cold weather
  • Microwave oven used a few times for popcorn!
  • Tires new 2007, with 5000 miles max on them.
  • REESE type Trailer Hitch load leveling spring steel (read questions section below )

Figure 1.  This is not a photo of the camper for sale, however it shows the type of hitch it has.

Following items have been serviced:

  • The electric/gas refrigerator was removed for service to free the control valves, which were stuck.  The fridge works very well, makes Ice, is economical of gas and works on both sources of power, 110v and gas.  Even at 70 MPH, the refrigerator stays lit and functioning!  When you get to a campground with hookups, you switch it to 110v and save gas.  The refrigerator is quite a good sized unit, makes ice cubes quickly, keeps meat frozen, and beer cold!
  • Electric Brakes work.  (I will dismount a U-Haul brake controller from the truck to include in successful purchase, for separate $100 plus shipping fees if you want it) It is in Colorado, and the camper is in Whitman, Massachusetts.  The brake controller cost $250 installed by U-Haul, then I had to re-wire it because they had the terminals all mixed up.  The diagram for it is in the camper.
  • Wheel bearings greased by RV dealer in Colorado 2007
  • Multi-prong 12 volt trailer plug installed, controls brakes, lights, and charges battery while on the road.
  • The full length door side awning is only 3 years old, and works nicely.  The new door needs the roller replaced on top of it, (it was on the door that was replaced) to keep from ripping the canvas when the awning is deployed.  The roller is in the utility drawer, and has not been installed.  The awning has legs that come away from the vehicle body, and are staked down with large Iron spikes to keep from moving/blowing in high winds.

The following systems work:

  • Toilet, bathroom sink and shower, kitchen sink.  ALL FAUCETS WORK, but there is no hot water.  See Known Defects below.
  • All drains, go into holding tanks for gray water or black water, or directly into a septic hookup at campground when valves are open.
  • Smoke detector, ceiling mounted
  • Gray and Black water storage, with separate tanks and drain valves on a "T" fitting (standard RV type)
  • 4-speaker AM/FM/Tapedeck radio, with booster for improved signal strength.
  • The thermostatically controlled hot air (outside vented) heater works well.
  • The Class A load leveling trailer hitch works well, distributes weight to tow vehicle's front wheels
  • Battery Charger (under kitchen sink) keeps battery charged while on AC power supply.
  • We have been through incredible thunderstorms with torrents of rain, and there are NO leaks in the roof, walls, or windows.
  • FOUR BURNER gas stove with thermostatically controlled oven.  Does nice roasts and baking breakfast rolls.   (Most NEW RV's only have a 3 burner stove these days I've noticed)

The following are known defects:

  • The water heater (gas) has a water leak, does not light, and the water system subsequently loses pressure every hour or so.   It drips water OUTSIDE the body of the camper, and needs replacement if you want hot water.  These water heaters are available at RV dealers, about $300.   The water pump has a separate shut off switch, and at night, we shut the pump so it doesn't cycle to try to keep the water system pressurized. Makes a noise that would wake you otherwise in a peaceful quiet camping area!  Most campgrounds have showers, and fixing it was not a priority.  Water for dishes can be heated in a tea kettle.
  • The Air Conditioner runs for about 10 minutes, then stops cooling.  After 1/2 hour it will again run for 10 minutes. This started to happen during a heat wave in June on our way to Massachusetts.  We did not have it checked.  For hunting in the fall, A/C would not be needed.
  • The TV antenna on the roof cranks to vertical, and it is broken.  It was broken when we got it, and we never used TV anyway.   Digital TV will make it obsolete and it needs just to be removed.
  • One overhead light seems to be intermittent operation (12 volt) and may be a loose or cracked wire.  There are plenty of 12 volt lights to make it unnecessary.
  • One of the forward windows, on left side of trailer is not operable.  It is in the closed position. The gear/crank lever seems to be stripped.
  • There is a small crack in the aluminum frame of the rock shield (in front of camper) that needs a pop-rivet patch.  It is functional, but got blown by a gust of wind while in campground enroute to Massachusetts.  Did not have time or equipment with me to make repair.  No big deal, but listed in attempt to give full disclosure.
  • There is no screen on the large dining table/bed window.  Screen and rubber retaining strip are available at any hardware store, and you will need a screen replacement roller tool to insert it.

Otherwise, the unit is clean, fun, and ready to hook up.

Included with this camper:

  • 4 "jack stands" one for each corner
  • 2  (two) 50' garden hoses
  • Drain rubber corrugated hose 3" diameter for waste water, fairly new, and the old one is a spare (in rear bumper)
  • Couple dozen large galvanized spikes for awning lock down
  • Lots of storage space inside, and access to storage from outside also.
  • Curtains and hooks as is.  Needs a woman's touch.
  • Manuals for all internal and external equipment
  • 3 gallons of RV antifreeze if purchased before freezing weather, otherwise it will be winterized.
  • The Title is clear and my sister has the title and is able to complete the sale in my absence with full power of attorney
